Το ΚΙΣΕ καταδικάζει απερίφραστα
τέτοιες ενέργειες, απ’ όπου κι αν προέρχονται, διότι υποδαυλίζουν το
θρησκευτικό μίσος, ενισχύουν τη μισαλλοδοξία και τροφοδοτούν επικίνδυνα
στερεότυπα.
Το Κράτος του Ισραήλ καταδίκασε
άμεσα την απαράδεκτη πράξη του Ισραηλινού στρατιώτη, ο οποίος παραπέμφθηκε στην
Ισραηλινή Δικαιοσύνη και είμαστε βέβαιοι ότι οι Αρχές του Κράτους θα λάβουν όλα
τα απαραίτητα μέτρα για την αποτροπή της επανάληψής της. Άλλωστε η Ισραηλινή
κοινωνία είναι η μόνη πολυπολιτισμική κοινωνία στη Μέση Ανατολή στην
οποία συμβιώνουν αρμονικά οι πολίτες της χώρας ανεξαρτήτως φυλής, χρώματος,
φύλου ή θρησκεύματος.
Με το ίδιο σκεπτικό καταδικάζουμε
και πρακτικές που επιβιώνουν στη χώρα μας, όπως το έθιμο του “Καψίματος του
Ιούδα”, οι οποίες αναπαράγουν τις προκαταλήψεις εναντίον των Εβραίων,
διαιωνίζουν τον κοινωνικό διχασμό και υπονομεύουν την αρμονική συνύπαρξη των
πολιτών.
Ο σεβασμός προς κάθε θρησκευτικό
σύμβολο και προς κάθε θρησκεία αποτελεί θεμελιώδη προϋπόθεση για την εμπέδωση
μιας κουλτούρας σεβασμού, ανεκτικότητας και ειρηνικής συνύπαρξης.

COMMUNITIES IN GREECE CONDEMNS THE VANDALISM OF A RELIGIOUS SYMBOL BY AN
ISRAELI SOLDIER
The Central Board of Jewish
Communities in Greece expresses its outrage at the disgraceful act of an
Israeli soldier who vandalized a statue of Jesus in Southern Lebanon—an action
that offends religious sentiment and undermines the principles of mutual
respect.
KIS unequivocally condemns such
actions, wherever they may originate, as they incite religious hatred,
reinforce intolerance, and fuel dangerous stereotypes.
The State of Israel immediately
condemned the unacceptable act of the Israeli soldier, who has been referred to
the Israeli justice system, and we are confident that the state authorities
will take all necessary measures to prevent its recurrence. Moreover, Israeli
society is the only multicultural society in the Middle East where citizens
coexist harmoniously regardless of race, color, gender, or religion.
In the same spirit, we also
condemn practices that persist in our country, such as the custom of “burning
the effigy of Judas” during Easter, which reproduce prejudices against Jews,
perpetuate social division, and undermine the harmonious coexistence of
citizens.
Respect for every religious
symbol and every faith is a fundamental prerequisite for fostering a culture of
respect, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.
